Equivalent circuit and impedance spectra

The multichannel electrochemical impedance spectrometer is designed for real-time monitoring of electrical properties across thin membranes, including porous molecular layers, cell barriers, and membranes containing organoids or spheroids. The accompanying multichannel electrochemical workstation supports analysis of small-volume samples in both online and offline modes. Samples may be introduced into a microfluidic chamber with or without continuous solution perfusion.

Both instruments are equipped with a multichannel switcher, dedicated input connectors (1-, 4-, and 16-channel configurations), and compatible chip adapters. While each device can be controlled through MesoViva’s graphical user interface, they also remain fully compatible with the original software provided by the analyzer manufacturer.

An equivalent circuit model is presented to demonstrate the simplicity of system representation. The impedance spectra shown on the right are representative examples obtained both experimentally and through theoretical modelling for membranes with and without an overlying cell barrier.
